Two held by STF, Leopard skin, tusk seized

Bhubaneswar, Apr 25 (Representative) The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch have arrested two persons and seized one leopard skin besides two tusks from their possession in Nayagarh district. STF sources today said acting on a tip-off the STF team conducted a raid near Maa Kalapata temple on the Gania- Chamundia road and arrested the accused yesterday.

STF identified the two accused as Ramesh Pratihari and Bimbadhar Tarei.
Further investigation is on. STF sources said the Leopard Skin and the tusk would be sent to Wildlife Institute of India Dehradun for chemical analysis. During the last year, STF has seized 13 leopard skins, nine tusks, five kg Pangolin scales, three live Pangolins, two deerskin, and 460 kg of sandalwood.
