J&K Police rendering yeoman service to the Nation: ADGP Singh

Jammu, Oct 22 (Bureau) Lauding the role of brave martyrs, the Additional Director General of Police, Jammu Zone, Mukesh Singh on Friday said that the Jammu and Kashmir Police has been rendering yeoman service to the Nation and the society under most difficult and challenging circumstances at the cost of their personal safety and comfort. Singh was speaking at the “National Police Day” also known as Police Commemoration Day, observed here at Gulshan Ground with a ceremonial.Singh also prayed for the heavenly peace of the departed souls and also for the prosperity and welfare of their families. Functions were organized in all the ten districts of Jammu Province where large number of senior Police Officers, retired police personnel, members of the martyr’s families and members of civil society participated.

At Jammu, ADGP Singh took the salute of the Commemoration Day Parade while the General Officers of all Jammu based units, apart from a large number of senior and retired Police Officers, prominent dignitaries and citizens and media personnel of Jammu participated in the function. Singh read out the name of 264 brave martyrs of the country which includes martyrs from Police Organizations and PMF like BSF, CRPF, ITBP, CISF, SSB, NCB, NDRF and FS, CD & HG. A blood donation camp was also organized by Police in collaboration with Team Jammu in which senior Police officers and officials and volunteers of team Jammu donated blood. Moreover, another impressive function was organized again in the evening at Police Martyrs Memorial Railway Station, Jammu where a large number of Police and Civil families assembled to light candles and paid tributes to the Martyrs of the nation.
