Nadda releases BJP manifesto for Odisha

Bhubaneswar, May 5 (Representative) BJP National President J P Nadda on Sunday released here the party manifesto for Odisha that contains 21 promises for the people of the state. Nadda promised to end the widespread corruption and corrupt practices of the BJD government. The BJP President promised to introduce a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption and ensure that schemes and revenue generated in Odisha reached the people of the state. All revenue generated from minerals and mining will be used for the progress of Odisha. He said the money of all small businesses stuck in the chit fund scam would be returned within 18 months after the BJP came to power. The BJP leader said his party would start Samrudh Krishak Niti under which paddy would be procured at Rs 3100 per quintal and payment would be transferred to farmers within 48 hours through DBT. Procurement will be made through electronic weighing machines in all mandis.

The manifesto also promised to eliminate the present systems of “katni-chhatni”. Nadda also promised to launch Subhadra Yojana under which every woman will receive a cash voucher of Rs50,000 which can be encashed over two years. He said Odia Samudaya Bhaswan will be established in all metro cities of India to ensure the welfare of Odia people living outside the state. The BJP leader promised to create industrial clusters for every 500 SHGs with facility management for product marketing and promotion to create 25 lakh Lakhpati didis in Odisha by 2027. He said if the BJP comes to power, its government will provide every fisherman an annual lean period allowance of Rs 10,000 and revolutionise the fishing industry by upgrading fishing harbours, setting up cold wafehouses and processing houses for fisheries. Nadda said the BJP promised to make Odisha nto a top-prforming economy and create over 3.5 lakh jobs by 2029 by developing an industrial corridor connecting Rourkela, Sambalpur, Paradeep, and Dhamra by June 2027 and introducing the PROSPER-Odisha (Promoting Regional Opportunities and Sustaining Entrepreneurial Resilence) scheme to boost the MSME sector.

The manifesto also promise to set up state-of-the-art IT parks in four cities — Bhubaneswar, Rourkela, Berhampur and Balasore. The BJP would also lay special focus on the automobiles, EV, Semi conductor and IT/ITES sectors. The manifesto promised fill up 1.5 lakh vacant government posts and complete recruitment for 65,000 posts within two years and fill up the vacancies for OBC and EWS on priority basis. The manifesto promised to launch Mukhyamantri Sahayata Yojana to provide pension of Rs 3,000 per month for all elderly, divyang,,widows, and destitutes and a pension of Rs 3,500 for elderly above 80 years and divyang with 80 per cent disability. He said the BJP government would provide Rs 5,000 annually to all tribal students as Madho Singh Haath Kharcha to encourage them to attend schools and reduce drop out rates. Nadda said they would provide labourers in the unorganised sector with an insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh and implement Ayushman Bharat Scehme withih 100 days of coming to power and ensure that the country’s largest universal health insurance is made available to all Odisha residents who have income lower than Rs eight lakh per annum. He said three integrated textile parks will be set up in Western Odisha to improve the livelihood of weavers and promote the textile industry in the state. Nadda said monthly financial assistance of Rs 3,000 for all beneficiaries between 40 and 60 years of age and Rs 3,500 for all beneficiaries above 60 years will be provided under the Bunakar Samman Nidhi scheme for weavers and handloom workers of the state.

The manifesto also promises to impldment the PM Awas Yojana under which 15 lakh houses will be built and water connections will be provided to 26 lakh household and 40,000 public places of the state under Jal Jeevan Mission. Nadda promised to expedite the investigation of ten missing keys to the Ratna Bhandar of Shri Jagfanath Mandir, ensure that the mathas evicted during the Puri Parikrama Project are fairly compensated and ensure the auditing of the Ratna Bhandar ‘s auditorium. He said ‘we will make Odisha the state with the third largest tourist footfall, implement the PM-Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and launch Mission Swasthya Odisha under which 36,000 beds in CHC and PHCs will installed, modernise every CHC by 2027 and establish a nursing college, a medical college and a super speciality hospital in every district”.
