Haryana govt made several schemes for traders

Chandigarh, Oct 18 (FN Agency) Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said businessmen and industrialists work together with the government as a partner for the betterment of the society. He said the tradition of making a contribution to the welfare of the public out of the earnings in the form of charity has been going on since ancient times. Mr Khattar said the government has made many schemes for the convenience of the traders. On the lines of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, Mukhyamantri Vyapari Kshatipurti Beema Yojana for small traders and Group Personal Accident Insurance Scheme for big traders have been implemented. A separate cell has been constituted in the Finance department for this. He said on the lines of Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Suraksha Yojana, the premium of small traders will also be borne by the state government. Under the scheme, there will be an insurance cover of Rs two lakh.

Stating this while addressing the representatives of the business cell who came to meet him at his residence here on Monday, Mr Khattar said traders are a big medium for collecting taxes for the government. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has implemented GST with the concept of “One Nation-One Tax”. The amount deposited by the traders with the government in the form of tax is spent by the government on development works and public welfare schemes for the public, he said and added that whatever be the system, it should be transparent. He said the traders should continue to do their business with confidence and they should be wary of such risks when there is global fluctuation in trade for any reason. On the demand of a representative from Tosham in Bhiwani district, the Chief Minister said Tosham is an old town, he does not know why it has not been made a municipality yet.

Although it was already declared to be a municipality, for what reasons it was made a village panchayat, it is a matter of concern. He said development works in Municipal Corporations, Municipal Councils and Municipalities take place faster compared to Gram Panchayats as these bodies also have their own resources. Mr Khattar said at present the tenure of Gram Panchayats has already been completed, so if Tosham’s people sent a resolution passed by the Gram Sabha, then within a month, Tosham will be given the status of Municipality. He said earlier also towns smaller than Tosham like Bass and Sisai in Hisar district, Sadhaura and Radaur in Yamunanagar have also been made municipalities. He said the representatives who have suggestions should give it in writing because in the present State Government’s regime every suggestion is incorporated and not discarded like it used to be in the previous governments.
