408 personnel get Army Chief Commendation Card

New Delhi, Aug 14 (FN Agency) The Indian Army on Sunday declared the list of the Army Chief Commendation Card awardees on the eve of Independence Day, 2022. A total of 408 personnel from various branches of the Indian Army, Territorial Army, Border Road Organisation, Assam Rifles, Special Frontier Force, Indian Navy, Police and civilians have been awarded the Army Chief Commendation Card.

Similarly, the Vice Chief of Army Commendation Cards have also been declared on the occasion which includes a total of 245 personnel from the Indian Army, Territorial Army, General Reserve Engineers Force, Indian Air Force and civilians. The Army Chief Commendation Card is awarded for individual acts of gallantry or distinguished service or devotion to duty performed either in operation or non-operational areas which are not of a sufficiently high order to qualify for a higher gallantry award or for which the higher award is inappropriate. All ranks or the Army and civilian personnel working under the supervision, direction and control of the Army are eligible for the award. The award is not given posthumously.
