Three booked for stealing 2.5 lakh cash, mobile handsets in Shahkot

Shahkot, Jun 30 (Agency) The Shahkot police have booked three persons on Wednesday on the charge of stealing 2.5 lakhs cash and mobile handsets from two shops. The investigating officer (IO) Lakhvir Singh said that the accused have been identified as Parmindar Singh alias Sunny, a resident of Bansa wala bazaar, Shahkot, another was identified as Vicky, a resident of Sallaichan village and one Lovepreet alias Bhajan Lal, a resident of Meinwal Molvian village.

Vikas Dhawan, a resident of Kartar Nagar, Shahkot complained to the police that the accused barged into his mobile & repair shop on the night of June 25 and stole 2.5 lakhs and 11 mobile handsets. IO said that a case under section 380 (theft in dwelling house) and 457 (house trespass) and 34 (committing crime with common intention) of the IPC has been registered against the accused. The police also booked unidentified persons for stealing Rs 20,000 and two smartphones from the house of Tarsem Lal, a resident of Rupewal village.
