Latur, Jun 2 (Agency) Latur MIDC police on Wednesday arrested three persons and seized 95 kg of cannabis and other items worth Rs 14.86 lakh at Khadgaon to ring road no 5. A case has been registered against them under Section 20 (b), the police said. They further said that the MIDC police received a tip-off that cannabis was being transported in a white car. Based on the information, the police set a trap and stopped the car at Chowk No 5 and found green B-mixed cannabis in 43 plastic bags.
The accused have been identified as Vaibhav Ranba Ujgare (resident of Khadgaon Road, Latur), Manoj Sheshrao Jogeshwari (Sarola Road, Kushtdham, Latur) and Premnath Chandrakant Shinde (Bharat Society, Gawli Nagar, Latur). Police have seized cannabis and a car worth Rs 14,86,730. The action was taken by a team led by Sub-Divisional Police Officer Jitendra Jagdale and Inspector Sanjeevan Mirkale, they added.
