Police constable in ACB net in Aurangabad

Aurangabad, Jun 1 (Agency) A police constable, attached with MIDC Waluj police station, was arrested on Tuesday by the Aurangabad unit of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 60,000 from a complainant. The alleged accused, Ganesh Dynehswar Antarap, had sought Rs 1.50 lakh as bribe from complainant for not taking any action against him in a case filed against him at the same police station, sources in ACB said here.

After bargaining, he settled for Rs 60,000. However, the complainant lodged a complainat with the city unit of ACB, whose team today laid a trap at main gate of the same police station and caught red-handed Antarap with the bribe money. A case under relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act has been filed at the same police station against the constable, sources added.
