One held for duping people on promise of high returns in online investment scheme

New Delhi, Oct 11 (Agency) Delhi Police Economic Offences Wing has arrested a 48-year-old man for running an online fraud investment scheme and cheated more than 20 people, police said on Monday. The police said that they received a complaint that they invested money in alleged company “EPC Wallet and SR Blue Chips” on the pretext that invested money would double in 200 days and they would also get a bonus every day. Accused induced them of high return in a very short span of time, RK Singh, Additional Commissioner of Police, EOW, said. The victims invested a sum of Rs 2.05 crore in the alleged company, but it failed to deliver returns as promised. And after some time, the accused closed the business and ran away.

The police have received more than 21 complaints against the alleged company and its directors and representative, said Singh. Bank accounts of the alleged company were scrutinized and ROC data was analyzed, it was revealed that the alleged company “EPC Wallet and SR Blue Chips” allured the people at large. The accused is identified as Mukesh Babu who is a graduate from Chandigarh. He was working as a typist in a local court in Chandigarh. He was also involved in a case registered in Punjab, said Singh.
