DRI sleuths seizes 3 Kgs of Heroin in Hyderabad airport from Tanzanian peddler

Hyderabad, Jun 21 (Agency) The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) sleuths arrested one male peddler from Tanzanian and seized 3 kilos of of Heroin worth Rs 19.5 crore from his possession at the their possession at the Rajiv Gandhi International (RGI) Airport here in the early hours on Monday. Acting on specific information, DRI team kept a watch at Rajiv Gandhi International (RGI) Airport and intercepted a Tanzanian male passenger, who arrived from Johannesburg via Doha, DRI officials said in a release here.

White power was concealed beneath the base of his trolley bag carried in checked in baggage. We retrieved 3 kilos of the powder from the trolley, the release said Chemical test confirmed that it was heroin. The drug was seized and the person was arrested under the provisions of NDPS Act 1985. The value of the seized heroin in the international market is Rs 19.5 crore .
