Jalandhar, Oct 20 (Representative) Border Security Force (BSF) on Wednesday seized one packet of contraband suspected to be heroin from the area of responsibility of 144 Battalion of the BSF in Amritsar sector. A spokesperson of the Punjab Frontier Headquarter of the BSF here said that the vigilant troops of the BSF deployed at the post heard buzzing sound of a suspected drone coming from the Pakistan side and entering into the Indian Territory and immediately returning back within less than a minute.
The troops fired at the suspected drone soon after it entered the Indian Territory. The area was immediately cordoned off and sister agencies were informed with in no time to carry out the search intensively. During a search of the area, one packet of contraband suspected to be heroin weighing 1.100 kg was recovered, the spokesperson said.
