PURE EV Startup launches extended warranty policy for its Electric Vehicles

Hyderabad, Jul 28 (FN Agency) IIT-Hyderabad incubated Startup PURE EV has launched extended warranty policy for its Electric Vehicles, probably among the first-of-its kind in the EV sector. PURE EV has been the only Indian Electric Vehicle two-wheeler company that is making net profits since its inception and is fully committed to re-invest its profits into further R&D of Batteries, motors and controllers, and after sales service activities related to improving the user experience. The key pointers of the extended warranty policy include that it covers key power-train components (Battery, Motor, and Controller) for all its current models.

PURE EV has spent more than two years to evaluate and bring forward this policy that has been formulated on the basis of a data-driven approach. The data points assessed include on-ground product performance of these components over 40,000 KM for many of the PURE EV models and indeed in-house test data over the last two years, customers and dealers’ feedback, and other related areas, a release here said on Wednesday. Elaborating about this system, Dr Nishanth Dongari, Founder, PURE EV, and Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, IIT Hyderabad, said, “The entire EV components manufacturing ecosystem is at a nascent stage today in the country and PURE EV is working extensively for continuous improvements in the components design life and field reliability through our research center at IIT Hyderabad.

We have a strong R&D team in the entire power train components related to battery, motor and controller who work closely with our manufacturing and service teams and evaluate feedback from various stakeholders. This announcement of extension in the warranty policy is done after strong data analytics and through extensive design improvements of these critical components.” Dr. Nishanth Dongari said, “One of the strong initiatives that the Company took last year was the launch of Batrics Faraday, an AI-driven hardware which enables battery service failure resolution at dealers’ levels. This saves precious man-hours otherwise spent in replacement of a series of cells and significantly reduces the battery ‘Turn Around Time’ (TAT).”
