HP CM asks people to abide by COVID-19 guidelines

Hamirpur (HP), Mar 26 (FN Representative) Appealing to the people to completely observe the COVID-19 guidelines to combat its spreading, the Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Friday said he was forced to cut his visit to Hamirpur and perform today’s function virtually. He said that the number of new cases was on an increase and if it didn’t stop, the government would have to take strict measures. He said this after dedicating the building of the Tounidevi Tehsil office of the district virtually from Shimla. He also inaugurated and laid foundation stones of developmental projects worth Rs. 22.68 crore in Sujanpur Assembly Constituency He said that the construction of Revenue Colony at Hamirpur town would be completed in next two years and would provide residential accommodation to the employees of the district.

Jai Ram Thakur said that the State Government has completed over three and a half years in office and the State has witnessed an unprecedented development in all spheres adding that the Budget presented by the State Government has been appreciated by all and has ensured welfare of every section of the society. The Chief Minister said that out of eleven Zila Parishad, the BJP has won nine Zila Parishads. He said that the BJP has also performed extremely well in Panchayats and other Urban Local Bodies elections. He said that this shows that the people have full faith in the policies and programmes of the State Government. He expressed optimism that the party would win all the Municipal Corporations in the state where elections would be held next month.

Jai Ram Thakur said that a Rs 12 crore Mini Secretariat building was coming up at Sujanpur. He said that the bridge over Pungh Khud being constructed by spending Rs 11 crore would be completed soon. The Chief Minister said that Rs. 45 crore was being spent on improvement of the ambitious Lagwalti Bamsan water supply scheme to facilitate the people of the area. He said that a provision of Rs. 23 crore had been made for construction of various government buildings in the area. The Chief Minister said that Hamirpur has developed a lot since it became a fully fledged district on September 1st, 1972. He said that the BJP governments in the past had done significant jobs to bring Hamirpur on the map of India in various fields of development and that work was on under the present BJP regime. Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Anurag Singh Thakur while addressing the people virtually from New Delhi said that all these developmental projects would go a long way in accelerating the pace of development in the area.

He said that the State got AIIMS at Bilaspur, Satellite Centre of PGI at Una and today State has six Medical Colleges in Government sector alone and all this was due to the benevolence of the Prime Minister and Union Government. He said that it was possible due to the leadership of the Prime Minister that today India was capable of giving befitting reply to any nefarious designs of external forces. Former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal thanked the Chief Minister for dedicating Tehsil Office Building at Tauni Devi to the people of the area. He said that this would facilitate the people of the area in getting revenue related works done nearer to their homes. He expressed hope that the State would succeed in defeating Corona under the able leadership of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur.
