Shreyanka’s four-fer helps RCB bundle out DC for 113 in WPL finals

New Delhi, Mar 17 (Agency) Exceptional bowling performance led by Shreyanka Patil’s four-fer helped Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to bundle out Delhi Capitals for 113 in 18.3 overs at Arun Jaitley Stadium here on Sunday. Shreyanka took four wickets, Sophie Molineux three, and Asha Shobhana bagged two, along with a runout. Delhi Capitals won the toss and got off to a strong start, reaching 61 for 0 at the end of the batting powerplay.

Shafali Verma played aggressively, scoring a quick 44 runs off 27 balls. However, the momentum shifted when Molinuex took three wickets in the 8th over, dismissing Shafali and two other batswomen – Jemimah Rodrigues and Alice Capsey – in quick succession. RCB capitalised on this momentum swing, with Shreyanka dismissing Mag (23) Lanning and Shobhana taking two wickets in the 14th over. DC’s batting collapsed, and they were only able to post a total of 113 runs, at least 30 runs short of a competitive score for a cup final. RCB is chasing 114 runs for victory and were 20/0 in 5 overs, needing 94 runs off 90 balls.
