Dias presents scheme to identify Goan talent for 2036 Olympics

Panaji, Jul 7 (Agency) President of Goa Sports Foundation Roque Dias, Patron-in-Chief Vero Nunes along with Tony Fernandes, MLA and Chairman of Santa-Cruz Sports Complex, met Chief Minister Pramod Sawant with a draft scheme to identify Goan talent for 2036 Olympics. While at Sports Authority of India (SAI), Dias illustrated that after interacting with the World Sports Scientists in UK, in the year 2011 on the direction of Government of India, an ambitious scheme was launched for preparation of the Indian teams for 2020 Olympics. India has qualified in 126 slots for Tokyo Olympics. Out of which, 15 have been qualified in shooting- the highest ever, after the introduction of Yoga in the scheme.
