Bhopal, Aug 23 (Representative) Union Home Affairs and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah expressed satisfaction on Monday over the fact that – in the wake of Prime Minister Narendra Modi assuming the nation’s reins – the scourge of Left-wing extremism has been firmly dealt with in areas included under the Central Zonal Council and numerous crucial measures were taken for development of these places. “Such violence was at its peak in 2009 – the number of recorded incidents being 2,258 – but that declined to 509 in 2021. Since 2019, the decrease in such militancy has been rapid. In 2009; 1,005 people died in this type of bloodshed while in 2021 the figure was 147. The Centre is further buttressing security forces in the affected areas and filling gaps in security. Forty camps have been set up in the past three years and 15 more are to be established. About 5,000 post offices and more than 1,200 bank branches were opened over the past three years in Naxalism-hit areas. More than 2,300 mobile communication towers were installed in the maiden phase and installation of 2,500 more is underway,” he was officially quoted as saying while chairing the 23rd meeting of the CZC in the Madhya Pradesh capital.Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and his Uttarakhand counterpart Pushkar Singh Dhami were present in person whereas Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Chhattisgarh’s Mr Bhupesh Baghel participated via video-conferencing.

This remark was expressed by the Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur on Monday at Dadasiba in Jaswan Pragpur constituency in Kangra district as the chief guest at the 75 years celebrations of the establishment of Progressive Himachal. He said that only with the active cooperation of all citizens, India would move towards becoming a global superpower under the leadership of Modi. He said that the way India prepared two anti-corona vaccines within nine months under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is a great example of India changing all over the world. He said that Himachal has become the first state in the country to provide both doses of anti-coronavirus vaccine to all the people. He said that the then Congress government at the Center had also withdrawn the special industrial package given to Himachal by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Now Narendra Modi has given a huge gift for Himachal by restoring the 90:10 ratio of Centre-State in the developmental projects.

He said that Center’s Ujjwala Yojana and State Government’s Grihini Suvidha Yojana have promoted women empowerment as well as environmental protection. He said that the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana launched during the tenure of Atal Bihari Vajpayee has proved to be a boon for remote areas. He said that the BJP government at the Center has provided health insurance cover of Rs. 5 lakh to more than 50 crore people of the country through Ayushman Bharat scheme and the state government has started the health care scheme for the poor people. He expressed concern for those poor people who were left out of this scheme.Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur said that an indoor stadium would be constructed in Pragpur at a cost of Rs.4 crore in which facilities for various sports would be available. He said that the construction work of Central University at Dehra would start soon. Apart from this, Kendriya Vidyalaya in Jaswan Pragpur will be started soon.

Earlier, while welcoming the chief guest, Industries Minister Bikram Thakur said that Himachal Pradesh has made unprecedented progress in all areas of development in the last 75 years. He said that two new SDM offices and one Development Block Officer’s office of Jaswan Pragpur assembly constituency have also been approved during the tenure of the present government. He said that in the last four and a half years, new records of development have been set in Jaswan Pragpurd has been developed as a model of development in the entire state.On this occasion, Chief Guest, Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur also visited the developmental exhibition and presented small documentaries and street plays on the journey of 75 years of the establishment of Himachal on this occasion. BJP District President Sanjeev Sharma, Divisional President Vinod Sharma, ADC Gandhwa Rathore and other dignitaries of the area were present on the occasion. Earlier on his arrival at Kangra Airport Anurag Thakur criticized Chief minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal for remaining mum on the Sisodiya issue and was critical of both Arvind Kejriwal and Munish Sisodiya were allegedly in hand in glow in the liquor scam in Delhi.
