Southern Command offers internship opportunity to students in emerging fields: Lt Gen Nain
Pune, Aug 23 (FN Agency) Lieutenant General Jai Singh Nain, General Officer-Commanding-in-Chief of Southern Command of the Indian Army, announced on Monday that the students, who wish to pursue an internship with Southern Command in the emerging fields like cyber security, artificial intelligence, space, quantum computing etc., can approach them and the cost for the same will be borne by them. Speaking as the chief guest at felicitation ceremony organised by Symbiosis at Symbiosis Vishwabhavan auditorium here to honour illustrious and renowned Lt Generals and equivalent in Navy and Air Force, he said that the students are the future of the country and custodians of our legacy.
He advised the students “to have the courage to speak up your mind, grab the opportunity when it comes, never ever compensate on your morals, principles in life, develop an art of reading. think out of the box. Always retain your originality. “He also suggested to “have a big dream in life and work hard to achieve it, compete with yourself and not with others, beat your own record every day… Always keep the child alive in you and always smile, which is a booster for everyone around you. “In his speech, Lt Gen Nain talked about the remarkable growth made by the country in the last 75 years and how all the sectors including government, semi-government, private, other bodies, educational institutions, armed forces have contributed significantly in nation building.
Apart from maintaining peace, armed forces have also contributed in welfare projects in remote areas during tsunami, floods, etc., and contributed in NCC as well as related activities, he added.Speaking on the occasion, Dr S B Mujumdar, founder and president Symbiosis and chancellor, Symbiosis International University, said in his presidential address, “I am lucky that I have witnessed the first Independence Day of our country and also the Amrit Mahotsav. Many things have changed during these 75 years… Education is the only way to make India a developed country. Colleges and universities must have to play a major role in nation building…”
