NCP Welfare Trust to provide flood relief materials worth crores

Mumbai, Jul 27 (Representative) The NCP Welfare Trust has raised relief materials worth Rs 2.5 crore for distribution among 16,000 flood-hit families, stated party chief Sharad Pawar on Tuesday. He made the announcement in a press meet held after flagging off five ambulances to the rain-ravaged districts. Mr Pawar said, ”Due to this flood, 16,000 houses or 16,000 families need help. In this, Ratnagiri – Chiplun – Khed includes 5,000, Raigad district 5,000, Kolhapur and Sangli 2,000 each, Sindhudurg 500 and Satara 1,000.” ”Through the NCP Welfare Trust, 20,000 household utensils, 20,000 bedsheets and one lakh masks were distributed to the affected people,” he added. He further said, ”On behalf of Dr Narendra Kale, 250 teams of doctors have arrived with medicines.

In addition, critically-ill patients will be admitted to the hospital. 20,000 biscuits and toast will be distributed from Britannia company.” He continued, ”MP Sunil Tatkare is responsible for Raigad district, MLA Shekhar Nikam is responsible for Ratnagiri, former MLA Sanjay Kadam, Arvind Sawant for Sindhudurg, Minister Balasaheb Patil for Satara, Vikramsinh Patankar and State party President Jayant Patil for Sangli district. Apart from this, party leaders and workers will also help each other at the district level.” ”Also, Jagganath Shinde, a former MLA and president of the All India Chemists Association, will provide medicine to the flood-hit area,” he added. MP Sunil Tatkare, Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil, Minorities Minister Nawab Malik, Health Minister Rajesh Tope and FDA Minister Dr Rajendra Shingane were present on the occasion.
