Maha may be go soon for second lockdown: Ajit Pawar

Pune, Nov 23 (Agency) Following spurt in coronavirus cases in Maharashtra after the festival season, the state Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has hinted that the government may impose lockdown again in the state in the coming days. Mr Pawar on Sunday said, “There was a huge crowd during the Diwali period. Even at the time of Ganesha Chaturthi, we saw crowds. We are speaking to relevant departments. We’ll review the situation for the next 8-10 days and then the further decision will be taken about the lockdown.”

State health officials said that in Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, the coronavirus situation in Mumbai is completely under control, data from the last couple of days has shown a steady rise in the number of positive cases. Medical experts have warned that the surge in coronavirus numbers post-Diwali could be due to reverse migration and other factors.
