New Delhi, Mar 19 (Agency) India has denounced the comments made by the Chinese Defence Ministry Spokesperson regarding Arunachal Pradesh, saying, “Repeating baseless arguments in this regard does not lend such claims any validity”. In an official statement, the Ministry of External Affairs Ministry said, “We have noted the comments made by the Spokesperson of the Chinese Defence Ministry advancing absurd claims over the territory of the Indian State of Arunachal Pradesh.

The development came days after Beijing dubbed the northeastern state an ‘inherent part of China’s territory’ and objected to a visit by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
