HP: Keylong freezes at minus four degrees, coldest night of this season

Shimla, Nov 28 (Agency) The dry cold wave intensified in the state on Sunday as the mercury plummet to its lowest level of season, with minimum temperature of district headquarter of Lahaul Spiti, Keylong was minus four degree Celsius, the Met Office said. Dry and coldwave conditions increased in the Himachal Pradesh as the mercury plummet to season low on Sunday. Keylong freezed at minus four degrees for the first time in the season and one degree below normal.

Minimum temperature of Kalpa in Kinnuar minus 0.7 degrees, Manali in Kullu 1.6 degrees, Bhuntar and Sundernagar in Mandi three degrees each, Tourist resort Kufri in Shimla and Solan 4.5 degrees, Mandi five degrees, Hamirpur and Chamba 5.2 degrees each, Dalhousie in Chamba 5.7 degrees, Palampur 6.2 this capital and Bilaspur was 6.5 degrees each,Kangra 7.7 degrees, Una eight degrees, Dharmshala in Kangra 8.2 degrees, Poanta-Shaib in Sirmaur and Jubberhati 8.5 degrees each. The prolonged dry weather condition in the state dated the Rabi sawing in the state in the rainfed area. The Rabi crops comprising to wheat, barely, mustard, gram and pea required average 15 to 17 mm average rainfall in the winter. The Met Office forecast mainly dry weather condition in the next 24hr.
