‘Fitness Ki Dose, Adha Ghanta Roz’ Fit India Movement week bring cheers to students

Jammu, Dec 6 (Agency) In order to maintain a healthy body with better education, all private and government schools are participating in the ‘Fitness Ki Dose, Adha Ghanta Roz’ Fit India Movement across the Jammu region. The initiative, however, has brought cheers to many faces in this COVID pandemic as it is being proved as a major stress buster especially for the school going children.

‘Fitness Ki Dose, Adha Ghanta Roz’ (Fitness dose, half an hour daily), the second session of Fit India is being organized by the Ministry of Human Resource Development and under this campaign, Fitness Week is being organized in the month of December, in which all government and private schools of Jammu and Kashmir will also participate, said Anuradha Gupta, Director, School Education, Jammu. She said that this time due to Corona pandemic, Fit India Week will be organised online and offline, adding, “this week is also being celebrated offline where possible and to be organised online where impossible.” Registration for schools participating in this campaign has already started from November 25, she said and added, “instructions have been issued to all the Chief Education Officers of Jammu division to provide information about this week’s event.” It is the responsibility of the Chief Education Officers to inform the schools in their respective areas, she said and added, “this time, the theme of Fit India is also a ‘Fitness Ki Dose, Adha Ghanta Roz’ and in addition to exercise to keep the body fit, a quiz competition will also be organised.” Besides teaching yoga skills to children, NCC cadets, Panchayat and local body members will also participate in the campaign. The Director further informed that the report of this week-long event will also be made by the Chief Education Officer to know how many schools and children have participated in it. Various sports competitions are also organised during this period, including rope skipping, squad challenge, spot jogging, child dribbling, etc.
