Accounts Assistant Scheme of ICAI-ARF launched in HP’s Hamirpur

Hamirpur, Jul 25 (Representative) A pilot program of the ICAI-ARF was started for the youngsters of the Hamirpur parliamentary constituency with an endeavour to make a significant contribution towards training them to develop the necessary skills related to Book-keeping, GST and Income Tax Compliance and then make them employable. This pilot project is the brainchild of the local MP and Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting and Youth Affairs & Sports, Anurag Singh Thakur in the name of Accounts Assistant Scheme earlier.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) established the ICAI Accounting Research Foundation (ICAI ARF), a premier body of research in the areas of accounting, auditing, capital markets, fiscal policies, monetary policies, and other related disciplines aimed at providing knowledge, learning, education, and understanding involving different areas of the profession of accounting (accountancy) and stepped up its program of promotion. It is now being implemented with immediate effect said a spokesman of the originators of the scheme. This scheme is being started as a pilot project from Hamirpur Parliamentary Constituency of Himachal Pradesh and is considered very important for sustainable skill development of local youth to make them easily employable at the local level.

The spokesman said that the scheme for young people over 21 years old and would be training local youth accounting and tax compliance under the scheme, which was considered important globally. He said that it was an important step towards promoting efficiency and these are being made available at affordable charges. Based on the experience gained, the students will be helped to find jobs at the local level and through the dedicated portal; they will get information about the various employment opportunities available across the country. “This pilot project of ICAI ARF has been launched for the youth of Hamirpur Parliamentary Constituency, Himachal Pradesh. This scheme will provide assistance to students who are above 21 years of age and under this scheme local youth will be given training related to bookkeeping, filing GST forms, and understanding the tax process of GST,” Mr Thakur said about the scheme.

He congratulated ICAI ARF for launching this scheme because through this scheme the youth will be trained at the grassroots level. “In fact, this scheme is an important step towards providing employment to the local youth and the training fee for this program has also been kept affordable,” Mr Thakur added. The scheme will provide skill-based training and assessment through a rigorous process under the guidance of ICAI ARF and can be introduced jointly with an NGO/trust to mobilize youth at the grassroots level and moreover this scheme will be accessible to the interested candidates and thus it will empower the youth through skill development and also help them to become a part of the mainstream economy.
