Govt to take steps to make M’rashtra No 1 state in country

Mumbai, Sep 15 (Agency) Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday exuded confidence that steps will be taken, in coordination with the Niti Aayog, to make Maharashtra the number one state in the country. In the meeting, 41 issues such as GST refund, Pradhan Mantri Pik Bima Yojana, Kanjur Marg Metro Depot, acquisition of Railway’s land for Dharavi redevelopment, Dighi port development, land development issues related to Defence Department were discussed in detail with the Niti Aayog members at Sahyadri Guest House here, an official press statement stated.

The members of the Commission assured that action would be taken to sort out these issues expeditiously. The members also lauded the electric vehicle policy and the efforts made by Maharashtra to prevent Covid infection. On this occasion, Mr Thackeray said, “We welcome the kindness shown by the members of the Niti Aayog and have made suggestions regarding development, and the state government will continue to coordinate with the Commission in the future.” Initially, deputy chairman of the Policy Commission, Dr Rajiv Kumar, member Ramesh Chand, chief executive officer Amitabh Kant gave suggestions regarding the rapid development of Maharashtra in the fields of industry, agriculture, irrigation, infrastructure, health and social planning. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and Revenue Minister Balasaheb Thorat were also present at the meet.
