Two drug peddlers held in Anantnag

Anantnag, Jul 5 (Agency) Two drug peddlers were arrested by Jammu and Kashmir police on Monday in this south Kashmir district, where 24 FIRs were registered and 31 peddlers arrested during the month of June. A police spokesman said this afternoon that a naka was established by a police party from Janglat Mandi at Bilal Colony crossing Anantnag. During the checking two drug peddlers were arrested after 7160 Mefar-PD and Spasmo-Proxyvon capsules were recovered from their possession.

He said the drug peddlers identified as Kousar Ahmad Khanday and Bilal Ahmad Naikoo were lodged in police station at Janglat Mandi where a case has been registered and investigation taken up. He said during the month of June police arrested 31 drug peddlers, registered 24 FIRs and recovered Fukki 180 kgs, Poppy straw 202 kgs, charas 1.450 kg, sedative tablets 256, codeine bottles 117, grown sugar five grams and Rs 35,000 in cash.
