Thane, July 1 (Agency) Three persons were arrested for allegedly possessing ganja and charas worth Rs. 37.88 lakhs, the police said on Wednesday. Talking to UNI, senior Inspector Chandrakant Jadhav of the Shil-Daighar police station that acting on a tip off that some persons are to come to Desai Naka for selling the Ganja and Charas the police laid a trap and caught the trio at around 1600 hours today.
The carried out a search on them and found that they carried with them the ganja and Charas worth Rs. 37.88 lakhs in a vehicle. The narcotics was seized along with the vehicle which was valued at Rs. 5.50lakhs the police said. The police gave the names of the arrested as Erikak Banet Billen, 27, Sumedh Kasbe, 24, and Pravin Chowdhary, 47. Offences under various sections of the NDPS act have been registered against the trio with the Shil Daighar police station the official said. The further probe into from where they sourced the narcotics and to whom they were to sell is being carried out by the local police.
