Saharanpur, Feb 15 (Agency) A 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a youth in the Behat area here on Monday. As per police sources, an individual has furnished a written complaint at the Behat police station that his 16-year-old daughter had gone to relieve herself, early Monday morning. The family has alleged that during that time, Mohit Saini, a youth who resides in their neighborhood, raped her and later fled from the spot.
A rape case has been registered against the accused in connection with the incident. On the other hand, people from the accused’s side have claimed that the girl and Mohit were involved in a love affair since before and the girl had gone to the farm to meet the youth as per her will. Station In-charge Rajkumar Sharma said that police have filed a report into the matter and the girl has been sent to the district hospital for a medical check-up. Further probe is on.
