Hyderabad, May 4 (Bureau) Hyderabad police have busted a cricket betting racket by arresting three persons. Police also seized net cash of Rs 2.10 lakh and three cell phones from their possession.
On credible information, the sleuths of Commissioner’s Task Force, South Zone Team along with Chatrinaka Police conducted a raid on a house situated in Chatrinaka and arrested Jayesh Rawath (29) of Boggulakunta and a native of Rajasthan state (Bookie), J Rahul (30) Uppuguda (Sub-Bookie) and T Nikil (31) of Chatrinaka (Punter) on Tuesday night when they were accepting online cricket betting through “sphire.com App” on ongoing IPL Cricket Match between GT Vs PBKs Teams, a police release here said on Wednesday. The accused persons, along with the seized property have been handed over to Station House Officer (SHO) Chatrinaka Police Station for further investigation.
