New Delhi, January 16 (Agency) A Delhi Court on Monday sought response from Enforcement Directorate(ED) on the application of Hindi film actress Jacqueline Fernandez seeking to go abroad for a professional commitment to Dubai. Additional Sessions Judge Shailender Malik after hearing the application adjourned the hearing for January 25. Jacqueline, who is on regular bail appeared before the court along with her counsel and moved the application during the case proceedings. Counsel for accused Pinki Irani today denied all the allegations made in the ED Chargesheet and submitted that he has been falsely implicated in the case. Jacqueline Fernandez had appeared before the Investigating Agency for questioning in an Rs 200 crore money laundering case involving conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar and others.
Counsel for Jacqueline submitted through application that she is a Sri Lankan national living in India and she belongs to the film fraternity and holds a good name in the industry. Counsel further submitted that being a well known film actress she has been invited to Events, press conferences. Counsel requested the court that she has always joined the investigation and is ready to abide by any such conditions that this Court may deem fit to impose after allowing the permission in the interest of justice. Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Delhi Police has lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against Sukesh Chandrasekhar who is accused of cheating and extorting Aditi Singh, wife of the former promoter of Religare Enterprises Shivinder Mohan Singh, who was arrested in October 2019 in a case related to alleged misappropriation of funds at Religare Finvest Ltd. It is alleged that Chandrasekhar and his associates took money from Aditi after posing as government officials and promising to get bail for her husband. Chandrasekhar and his wife Leena Maria Paul were arrested by the Delhi Police for their alleged role in the cheating case. Delhi Police has alleged that Mumbai based Pinky Irani is a close aide of Chandrashekhar and introduced him to Jacqueline Fernandez.
