Bangkok, Jan 29 (FN Agency) World champion PV Sindhu ended her World Tour Finals campaign on a winning note after managing to beat Thailand’s Pornpawee Chochuwong but Kidambi Srikanth had a disappointing finish after losing third match in a row, here on Friday. Both Sindhu and Srikanth were already out of contention for the knockouts, before playing their respective last matches on Friday. Sindhu registered a 21-18 21-15 win over world number 13 Chochuwong in her third and final match after suffering defeats in the first two days. ‘Well I think it was a good finish.
Actually until yesterday I still had a chance. Unfortunately the match with Tai went the other way, so I didn’t have a chance. Otherwise, it was a good game,’ said Sindhu after the game. However, Srikanth went down 21-12 18-21 19-21 to Hong Kong’s NG Ka Long Angus in his last men’s singles group B game, which lasted one hour and five minutes. Notably, Srikanth’s hopes of making the semifinals were dashed after he lost to World No12 Wang Tzu Wei on Thursday.
