KDCC bank employees ‘stop work’ in protest against arrest of 5 officers by ED

Kolhapur, Feb 3 (Agency) Showing resentment against arrest of five senior officers of Kolhapur District central Cooperative Bank (KDCCB) Thursday by Enforcement Directorate (ED) after complete two-days raid on main office of KDCCB and it’s branch at Senapati-Kapashi, employees at main office agitated with “Kam Bandh” ( stop work) this morning and expressed their protest against ED’s arrest action. After raid on residents of former minister Hasan Mushrif and his close associate Prakash Gadekar along with the offices in Pune district on January 11, ED officials raided main office of KDCCB in Shahupuri area on February 1, which continued for second day Thursday and after 30 hours investigation, ED officials detained five senior officers of KDCCB, (in which Mr Mushrif is chairman) for further investigation and took some important documents with shifted detained officers to Mumbai ED office yesterday evening.

After detained bank officers, main office employees, agitated with stop work for an hour Friday morning and expressed their protest against the arrest of their five officers, with shouted slogans against ED and warned that following continued 30 hours investigation, bank officers were under tense and if there were any health problems to these officers, ED office would responsible. Those arrest were identified as Dr A B Mane, chief working officer, R J Patil, manager, Altaf Mujavar, assistant manager, , Sachin Donkar, superintendent and Raju Khade. On corruption allegations by Bhartiya Janata party leader Kirit Somayya in Appasaheb Nalavade cooperative sugar factory, Bricks company of his son-in-law’s, ED officials raided former minister Mr Mushrif’s residents and his offices on January 11 and then suddenly, ED raided main office KDCCB and it’s branch and detained five officers for further investigation along with seized some important documents.
