Congress claims fulfillment of 158 promises out of 166 in Karnataka: Priyank Kharge

Hyderabad, Nov 21 (FN Bureau) Karnataka IT Minister Priyank Kharge asserted that the Congress government has successfully delivered on 158 out of 166 poll promises in Karnataka. Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Tuesday, Kharge highlighted the positive impact of government initiatives, stating that 1.60 crore people have benefited from the provision of 200 units of free electricity in Karnataka. Additionally, the Anna-Bhagya Scheme has benefited 1.92 crore people, and around 60 lakh women are utilizing the Mahila Shakthi Yojana (Free bus ride) daily in the state. Kharge emphasized the importance of healthy competition in democracy.

Referring to National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) records, he pointed out that, on average, one person per day is committing suicide in Telangana.Drawing a comparison between the BRS and Congress, Kharge alleged that BRS has diverted funds to a farmhouse, while Congress has directed funds toward the welfare of the people. He criticized the absence of a “Praja Dharbar” in the state and raised concerns about corrupt administration prevailing. Regarding irregularities in the Public Service Commission affecting unemployed youth, Kharge criticized the alleged embezzlement of crores of rupees in the construction of the substandard Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation project.
