Hyderabad, Aug 17 (Agency) Bharatiya Janata Party Telangana Unit President and Karimnagar Lok Sabha member Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Wednesday crossed a historic milestone by completing 1,000 kms of his padayatra, when he entered Appireddypalle village of Palakurthi Mandal in Jangaon district. Sanjay, who covered 34 assembly constituencies in 84 days in three phases of his “Praja Sangrama Yatra (Padayatra),” unveiled a specially-erected pylon at Appireddypalle this afternoon, amidst bursting of crackers, release of 1,000 balloons, beating of drums and blowing of trumpets.
The Yatra was embarked on by the BJP state president to personally understand the problems of the people of Telangana and give them confidence and assurance that the Narendra Modi-led BJP government at Centre was there to take care of them.The first phase of padayatra began on August 28, 2021, at Bhagyalakshi temple near Charminar in Hyderabad and concluded with a public meeting at Husnabad on October 2, on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti. In all, the BJP MP walked 438 km over a period of 36 days covering nine districts, six parliamentary constituencies and 19 assembly constituencies.
The second phase of Praja Sangrama Yatra was launched on April 14, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Babasaheb B R Ambedkar, the architect of Indian Constitution. It was kicked off at Jogulamba temple in Alampur in Jogulamba-Gadwal district and culminated in a public rally at Tukkuguda of Ranga Reddy district on May 14. In all, the BJP state president walked for 383 km in 31 days covering three parliamentary constituencies and nine assembly constituencies in five districts.
The ongoing third phase of padayatra began on August 2 at Yadadri temple in Yadadri Bhongir district. So far, Sanjay walked for 183 km in a span of 15 days. In all, he walked for 1,000 km till date and would be entering 1001 km in Palakurthy assembly constituency. During the 82-day of padayatra, he could bring out to light many issues confronting the people of Telangana, met various sections of people and received thousands of representations on various problems.Despite his hectic schedule, the BJP state president wrote a series of letters to the Telangana government highlighting the issues he had come across during the padayatra.
