AAP demands MCD elections soon

New Delhi, July 3 (FN Agency) The Aam Aadmi Party has urged the Lieutenant Governor and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to hold local bodies elections in the national capital at the earliest and assured that the mountains of garbage will be eradicated as soon as it wins the MCD polls. Durgesh Pathak, AAP’s MLA from Rajinder Nagar said that Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena on Friday had admitted that the BJP has not done anything in its 15-year tenure in MCD. He said that the huge mountains of garbage was the result of BJP’s inefficiency.

“In the last 15 years, BJP has spent thousands of crores on this, but nothing has been done till now to remove the mountains of garbage. Almost every day huge fires can be seen on these mountains, which has made life difficult for the people living around. The AAP and Delhiites have been demanding removal of these mountains of garbage,” the MLA said. Pathak said that Saxena tweeted on Friday and sought suggestions from the people to reduce the mountains of garbage. “I request the LG and BJP to hold the MCD elections at the earliest,” he added.
