India will run as per Constitution, not Shariyat: Yogi

Lucknow, Feb 13 (FN Representative) Reacting to All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asdaddudin Owaisi’s tweet on Hijab row, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday said that the country will be run according to the Constitution and not according to ‘Shariyat’.

Earlier in the day, Lok Sabha MP Owaisi tweeted his statement and captioned it: “Insha Allah one day a Hijabi will become Prime Minister.” On the issue of wearing ‘Hijab’ in educational institutes, Owaisi, in this statement, said, “Will wear Hijab, will go to college, become doctor, collector, SDM and remember one day, probably I won’t be alive then, but a daughter wearing Hijab will become the Prime Minister.” Replying to it, Yogi without taking any name wrote on Twitter in Hindi: “Religious ‘fanatics’ dreaming of ‘Ghazwa-e-Hind’ with ‘Talibani’ mindset should very well understand, whether they remain or not, India will run according to the Constitution and not the Shariyat. Jai Shree Ram.” It may be noted that issue of wearing Hijab by Muslim girls in an educational institution in Karnataka is hogging the limelight in view of assembly elections in five states.
