Central, state health plans should be coordinated: Mandaviya

Mumbai, June 24 (Agency) Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Friday said health plans of the Central and State Governments should be implemented in coordination. He was speaking in a review meeting about Ayushman Bharat Yojana here. He said centre’s Aayushmaan Bharat Yojana and state government’s Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Jan Arogya Yojana bear the health expenditure of citizens. The citizens of the state should be given maximum benefit of these schemes. For this purpose Mandaviya gave instructions that the health plans of the Central and State Governments should be implemented in coordination.Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Executive Officer of National Health Authority S. Gopalakrishnan, Deputy Director Rohit Jha, Additional Chief Secretary Health Department Milind Mhaiskar among others were present. Mandaviya while suggesting a single card for both the schemes in the state said, if the central and state schemes are implemented in coordination, the state gets 60 percent of the funds of central government. For this, the Government of India is giving a comprehensive form to Aayushmaan Kendra Yojana.

Through the coordinated scheme, the message will be sent to the beneficiary about how much money has been spent on his illness. Also the hospitals will get the money soon. Ten crore beneficiaries in the state should have this card, he said.Beneficiaries can download their cards themselves from the website. They will get the cards in the villages itself. The Gram Sabha will have the list of card holders in the villages. He further said that all public hospitals should be included in this scheme. A doctor working in a hospital can be given an incentive allowance in this. Also, Asha Sevaks will also get 5 rupees per card if they make cards through their smart mobiles, he added.
