Mumbai, Feb 4 (FN Agency) BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal on Saturday presented the budget for the fiscal year 2023-24 of Rs 52,619 crore, up by 14.52 per cent over last year’s budget of Rs 45,949.21 crore. Additional civic commissioner P Velarasu presented the budget to commissioner Chahal, who is the state-appointed administrator of the civic body.
This is for the first time since 1985 that the administration of the richest municipal body in the country presented the budget to an administrator, as the five-year term of its corporators came to end on March seven, 2022.
