What is E-Learning?

E-Learning stands for electronic learning. It is like an interface which is used to deliver learning with the help of the technology they had which is outside the classroom. E-Learning is evolved in a wide variety of ways like in education, business, training etc. Each phase has there own interpretation of E-Learning. When it comes to the education E-Learning is a learning process which uses software based and online learning tools. But when it comes to business, training E-Learning is just like an online Learning.

Methods evolving in E-learning: When internet came into existence a wide variety of methods of E-learning is evolving day by day but in olden days there is no word of E-learning. It is like ruling the market now a days.

1) Video-based learning is a powerful and effective method of learning new concepts. When implemented correctly, video-based learning solution has the right impact on the minds of the learners. It is widely accepted e-learning trend. The success rate of video-based learning is increasing day by day.As it is very decent and changes the way which people used to learn that is why it is becoming so popular now a days.
2) Virtual classroom: In simply put it is like an image of traditional classroom or a training room. The trianee will teach, and the learners will learn real-time,face to face using internet -enabled technology devices. This is similar to technology called virtual reality, which is becoming very popular in these days.
3) Game based Learning: Games have been used as a learning tool for centuries. Chess was used to teach strategic thinking. The core concept behind game-based learning is teaching through repetition, failure and the accomplishment of goals. Video games are built on this principle. The player starts off slow and gains in skill until they’re able to skillfully navigate the most difficult levels. Games that are planned and designed well will offer enough difficulty to keep it challenging while still being easy enough for the player to win.Game-based learning takes this same concept and applies it to teaching a curriculum. Students work toward a goal, choosing actions and experiencing the consequences of those actions. They actively learn and practice the right way to do things. The result is active learning instead of passive learning.

The main difference between online and offline learning is location. In the online learning the learners need not necessary anywhere, they can access the classes using a good bandwidth of internet whereas in offline based learning the learners need to go to the location they learn things which eats their valuable time. Online learning has a more flexibility. The learner can listen classes any time he need if the lectures are already available but on the other hand offline learning is carried out between office hours and it will become difficult to the learner to attend the sessions only at a particular time because he may not be free at that time. There are some of the benefits of offline learning like asking doubts to course instructor and getting clarified them and here both the course instructor and the learner will become close and a learner can express his/her views on that topic but in offline learning it is much difficult to become close to the trainer and in most of the time online training won’t have a doubt assistance, which is a major problem to the learners.
