S Korea detects highly pathogenic bird flu case

Seoul, Jan 16 (Agency) Another case of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) was detected in a duck farm of South Korea’s Yeongam, the media reported on Sunday. This is the 21st case of HPAI found at poultry farms this winter.

Highly pathogenic avian influenza is very contagious among birds and can cause severe illness and even death, especially among poultry, Yonhap News Agency reported. The government also urged them to keep an eye on their farms and immediately report if any suspected symptoms found.
