Bolsonaro requests PM Modi to help accelerate delivery of vaccine

Brasilia, Jan 10 (FN Representative) Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting him to help his country in accelerating the shipment of two million doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine being produced in India, reported local media houses. G1 news channel read out the letter written by the Brazilian President

“To ensure the immediate implementation of our national immunization program, I would be extremely grateful for the opportunity to count on Your Excellency’s good offices in accelerating the delivery of 2 million doses of the vaccine produced by the Serum Institute of India to Brazil, with possible urgency and without prejudice to the Indian vaccination campaign,”

The Brazilian Foreign Ministry expects the arrival of two million doses of the AstraZeneca/Oxford vaccine, which is being manufactured in India by the Serum Institute and known in India as Covishield in this month itself.
