Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 12 (Representative) Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday announced that entertainment tax will be exempted for cinema theatres from January to March 2021. Fixed electricity charges has been reduced by 50 per cent for the 10 months during when theatres were closed relating to COVID, the CM said. Stating that validity of various licenses has been extended, he said. “Our creative industries will play a crucial part in the recovery.” Meanwhile, eminent personalities including film star Mohanlal appreciated Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for announcing the financial support for the revival of film industry, badly affected due to COVID pandemic.
