Bengal talkies’ ‘Pradhan’ completes 100 days run in theatres

New Delhi, Apr 2 (Representative) Pradhan, the socio-political action film, continues to amaze the audience even in its 15th week. The film completed its 100-day run at the box office on Monday. To celebrate the occasion, Bengal Talkies, Dev Entertainment Ventures, along with Atanu Raychaudhuri, Pranab Kumar Guha, and superstar Dev, held a cake-cutting ceremony at Dakshin Kalikata Sansad Club on Monday. The cast and crew members of the film, including Dev, Paran Bandopadhyay, Soham, Mamata Shankar, Anirban Chakraborti, debutante Soumitrisha, and the director of the movie Avijit Sen, along with the producers Atanu Raychaudhuri and Pranab Kumar Guha, were present on this wonderful evening celebrating the success of the movie. “In crafting ‘Pradhan,’ my aim was not just to entertain but to offer a poignant reflection on the complexities of political administration and social justice. Working with Dev and Paran Bandopadhyay has been an incredible journey, as they flawlessly captured the essence of their demanding roles. Additionally, the captivating performances delivered by Soham and Anirban left the audience mesmerized,” said Avijit Sen, the director of ‘Pradhan’. “Through the lens of our protagonist, Deepak Pradhan, the film not only intends to highlight thought and discussion about the challenges faced by people but also seeks to inspire audiences to reflect on the importance of integrity and courage in the face of corruption and injustice,” he added. “Pradhan is very close to my heart; it is very special in the sense that this is our fourth consecutive critically and commercially successful venture with Dev. The entire star cast has put their best forward and wowed the critics and the audience alike.

Pradhan, which was released on December 23, 2023, revolves around Deepak Pradhan (Dev), an honest cop, who is transferred to a fictional village of Dharmapur with his wife Rumi (Soumitrisha), where he learns the history of the place and witnesses corrupt and vile practices of the local Panchayat head Jatileshwar Mukherjee (Anirban Chakraborti) with the help of another fellow police officer, Bibek (Soham), and his landlord, Jibon Krishna Sarkar (Paran Bandyopadhyay), and Krishna’s wife Shanti (Mamata Shankar). Pradhan is a story of the human fight for love, dignity, individuality, principles, and honesty. He has Bengali sensibilities and is presented with high-octane drama; it is vastly engaging and packed with solid performance. Pradhan has Sujay Datta Ray as the editor, Gopi Bhagat as the DOP, Tanmoy Chakraborty as the art director, Anindit Ray and Adip Singh Manki as the sound designers, and Rajarshi Mukherjee and Jayanti Sen as the costume designers. Shantanu Moitra, Anupam Roy, and Rathijit Bhattacharya have composed the songs for the movie. The lyrics are by Anupam Roy and Prosen. The script and dialogues are by Subhadip Das.
