Thane, Dec 6 (Representative) The FDA Thane Zone-I raided a residential premises in the city’s Kasarwadavali locality and seized banned tobacco products worth over Rs 6.89 lakhs, the officials said on Sunday. Talking to UNI, the FSO at the Thane FDA office Ram Munde told that the officials of the FDA acting on the tip-off on Saturday afternoon raided the room of one Sunil Kumar Gupta, 31, and seized the consignment which was stocked in the room. The accused Gupta used to supply the material to the needy shopkeepers and sellers, he added. He further said that the seizure comprised of the prohibited food article worth Rs 6,89,526. An offence under various sections of the IPC and also FSSA has been registered against the accused with the Kasarwadavli police station.
