Old-age pension fraud: Delhi HC refuses to stay Lokayukta order to file FIR

New Delhi, Apr 2 (Bureau) The Delhi High Court has refused to stay the Lokayukta order for registering a First Information Report (FIR), in connection with a case related to the disbursal of old age stipends in the national capital. Justice Prathiba M Singh rejected the plea filed by councilor Bhoomi Chatter Singh Rachhoya of North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC).

The case pertains to the alleged pecuniary loss caused to exchequer over the disbursal of funds in 2018 by the councilor and the FIR was ordered to be lodged by the Lokayukta in January last year. The court also sought responses from the office of the Lt. Governor and the Delhi government in the matter. However, the court said the petitioner can approach the court in a later stage.
