MCD employee held on graft charges

New Delhi, June 28 (Bureau) Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday arrested an employee of Municipal Corporation of Delhi posted at Najafgarh zone in an alleged bribery case. A case was registered against an Assistant Engineer of MCD Najafgarh zone and an employee of MCD posted in the same zone on the basis of a complaint.

The complainant alleged that the Assistant Engineer was allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs three lakh through an employee of the civic agency for allowing him to construct slabs/lenter of his house, said CBI. CBI laid a trap and caught the said employee while he was allegedly accepting the bribe of Rs one lakh for himself and on behalf of AE, CBI added.Searches were conducted at the premises of the accused which led to a recovery of a few incriminating documents. The arrested accused was produced before the Court in Delhi and remanded to two days Police Custody.
