Agartala, Dec 13 (UNI) An inebriated husband beheaded his wife by sharp weapon in an intoxicated condition after a family dispute at Killamura village of North Sonaicherri under Belonia police station on Saturday night. Police however, were able to arrest the accused husband and forwarded him to court seeking his custody. Police said accused Sumitra Reang during quarreling had suddenly hit his wife Sandhyarani Murasingh (30) with a sharp cutter and chopped off her throat. After killing his wife, Sumitra Reang had closed the doors when neighbours raised an alarm; police rushed to the spot and arrested him.
According to report, the accused has been suffering from mental depression since past few years and was a habitual drunker. Police said when, they noticed that all the doors of the house were closed from inside, they opened a door of the house in presence of a Executive Magistrate and found the body of Sandhyarani was lying the floor of house in pool of blood and her accused husband was also lying in the same floor in intoxicated condition near the body.
