HP: Duo nabbed for duping Rs 2 lakh

Shimla, June 9 (Bureau) Himachal Police claimed on Thursday that two youths were arrested from Rajasthan by a sleuth of state cyber police who were wanted in Rs 2.24 lakh duping case. Additional Superintendent of Police Narvir Rathore said two accused were arrested in Rajasthan, are being brought to Shimla. The FIR was registered at Police station Chhota Shimla under 420, 120B IPC and 66C & 66D IT Act by the victim alleging transfer of Rs 2.24 Lakh from his bank account fraudulently after taking OTP from him, the miscreants had cheated for Rs 2.44 lakhs. In the complaint given to the police, it was told that the victim wanted to download the Yono App.

In the meantime a call came and caller told the victim that he will help him to download the app. Victim was asked to give him OTP received on his number. Soonafter giving OTP Rs 2.44 lakhs withdrawn from the bank account . A special police team was constituted after the FIR was registered to arrest the accused. On the basis of the location and call details of the accused, the police arrested the accused with credit card, POS machine in the said case by raiding him in Kanauta Rajasthan. There may be more accused in this case, so the of name of two accused names are not being disclosed at the moment. Shimla Police appeals to the public that if they get any such unknown call one should not download any kind of app and do not share OTO or your bank information with anyone. Report it immediately to the nearest police station or police control room number, he added.
