Srinagar, Feb 12 (Agency) Jammu and Kashmir police arrested a drug peddler and recovered poppy straw and over Rs 2.26 lakh in cash in south Kashmir district of Kupwara, a police spokesman said. On a tip-off, a police party arrested a drug peddler in Qazigund on Srinagar-Jammu national highway. A total of 11 kgs of poppy straw, Rs 2,26,500 in cash and a cheque for Rs 50,000 were recovered from his possession, he said. Case FIR No.27/2021 U/S8/15 NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Qazigund and investigation taken up, he added.
