CCB sleuths arrest two foreign nationals for drug-peddling

Bengaluru, Mar 17 (Agency) Continuing their war against drug menace, CCB sleuths have arrested two foreign nationals for indulging in drug peddling and seized from them Rs 65 lakhs worth of banned drugs during raids on their rented hideouts at two places in the City. Police said on Wednesday that the arrested were identified as Joseph Ndukwe Okafor, Abuja Headquarters (local government) Enugu State, Nigeria and Uzochukwu Markmaurice Mbatuegwu, No 5, Obiora Street, Abakahiki, Ebonyi State, Nigeria. During the raid on the hideout of Uzochukwu Mark Maurice Mb Atuegwu, in Amruthahalli Police station limits, Police seized Rs 50 lakhs worth drugs including 500 gram MDMA Ecstasy Tablets, 56 LSD Strips, Cash Rs 5000, three mobile phones and one car.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that he entered the country on a business visa and was staying despite the expiry of his visa and passport. Amruthahalli Police have registered a case and are investigating. In the first raid in Sampigehalli Police station limits, CCB Police nabbed a Nigerian who had indulged in drug peddling and seized from him drugs worth about Rs 15 lakhs during a raid on his rented room. It was also revealed that he was purchasing the drug from another drug peddler Ushman Mohemad and selling it in the city at a higher price.
