CBI files chargesheet against Anil Deshmukh

New Delhi, June 2 (Agency) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday filed chargesheet against Anil Deshmukh, former Home Minister of Maharashtra and others in an alleged attempt to obtain undue advantage for improper and dishonest performance of their public duties. The chargesheet has been filed against Anil Deshmukh, Sanjeev Palande former PS to minister and Kundan Shinde former PA to minister, CBI press release said. CBI had registered a case on April 21 last year, against Deshmukh and others.

A preliminary enquiry was earlier registered by CBI on April 6 last year, against Deshmukh and others on the orders dated April 5, 2021 of Bombay High Court. It was revealed during preliminary enquiry that the accused and others allegedly attempted to obtain undue advantage for improper and dishonest performance of their public duties. It was also alleged that the accused and others exercised undue influence over the transfers and postings of Police Officers, CBI release said.
